postheadericon Just disovered The Flamingos of Fuente de Piedra are right on our doorstep!!

When I was planning for our holiday for this October 2013, I suddenly found that the Flamingos of Fuente de Piedra are so close to the Villa in Estepona/Marbella near Malaga that we can easily get there and back in one day. I have researched it and am definitely going there especially as it is (i think) their 50th anniversary. I will report back after our visit !!

postheadericon Reviews Pluma Piedra, El Saladillo

Pluma Piedra has been home to many guests throughout 2012 and all were satisfied customers! We have had some lovely comments about the Villa – here are a few snippets from just some of them.

‘When you plan a large family holiday, you always have the concern around whether the accommodation will be what you are hoping for. With Pluma Piedra you do not have to worry’

‘Overall we really loved this villa, certainly one of the best we have ever rented and would recommend it to anyone.’

‘We tried the restaurant you recommended on our welcome sheet and loved it. Keep recommending it (especially the rabbit!)…’

‘The swimming pool was lovely and we visited a few places…Estepona, San Pedro, Marbella (old town) & Puerto Banus (the girl’s wanted to experience some of the bars oh my how that’s changed !!!)…the bus service was excellent…the week went so quickly & there were other places we wanted to visit…but I think we did well & we relaxed by the pool & had a day on the beach !!!

Overall we had a great time.

Thank you once again..we all had a fantastic holiday !!!’

Now we are well into 2013 and we have made even more improvements – we have got a fully-secure and removable swimming pool fence which you can put up and take down as requested by guest. I have found that this gives tremendous peace of mind to guests with younger families and certainly helps me to sleep at night too!

The garden is recovering from the diggers that invaded it during the recent ‘reforme’ which finished 2012. The lillies are back in situ, the banana palm has many ‘fingers’ this year and even the avocado tree by the swimming pool has made a marvellous recovery and is producing many avocados, waiting to be harvested and eaten by guests to Pluma Piedra. The lawn is fully grown once more, with that lovely, springy, Spanish grass.

Here are a few more snippets from our guests this year:

...We had a fabulous time – we spent time on the beach and I had an early morning stroll each morning  whilst the other family were still getting ready.

We visited Gibraltar which we enjoyed and also Puerto Banus, Estepona, Ronda and Mijas. Mijas was one of my favourite places.

We will definitely visit again and I have already recommended your place to several people. Many thanks for all your help and advice…your response to emails etc makes the whole experience of booking and choosing a villa much easier and gives you trust in what you are actually booking…’

‘…Thankyou so much … the holiday was just what we needed – leaving behind the bitter winter and being transported into glorious Spanish sunshine – and now back here it feels like Spring, so for once I think we timed it perfectly.

The house was fantastic, nicer than we could have hoped, so spacious and spotlessly clean on our arrival. As you say there was something for everyone, we made full use of the pool, table tennis and badminton, and the older ones really appreciated being able to get out independently to walk to the beach and local shops. Pepe’s was a bonus – frequently patronised – and what a nice man. We got to Estepona twice, which we loved and also Puerto Banus.

Thankyou again – we really appreciated the house, and would certainly look to revisit some time. I’ve booked lots of houses before, but never been given so much help and info beforehand… it was all so personal I just knew the house had to be nice!

Fantastic time at PLUMA PIEDRA on our special family holiday ( Two grandparents , four parents and five teenage boys).

Villa was excellent and comfortable accommodation, with pool, and table tennis giving us lots of fun . Well secluded villa in a lovely area with shopping and restaurants close at hand and Estepona only a short distance away.

Hope to return sometime in the future.

So all in all, Pluma Piedra has been thrilling its guests so I am delighted that they have been delighted!

postheadericon First Post

Hello this is my first post. Pluma piedra is now up and running and we have had a huge amount of all-positive feedback from our first season after the ‘facelift’ – new roof, new floor, re-pumbed, re-wired, new garage and swimming pool!!

Here are just some of the comments from our lovely guests:

Reviews of Pluma Piedra by guests who have stayed during 2012

Dear Becky

We arrived back today.

Just to say It really was quite the nicest villa we have stayed in, in the 5 years we have been visiting the Costa del Sol in February.  The location and accommodation you have is excellent and the best experience we have had in Andalucia.

Previously we have stayed in somewhat grandiose properties usually

somewhat isolated. I think the proximity to the beach and local amenity made it very relaxing, and the pool was lovely.

Your refurb is great, the kitchen fantastic and the swim pool in great nick.

Thanks again.

…Everybody was happy, there was enough space even for 12 people and they used all the facilities as we had sunny days and mild evenings. Jan took us for a sailing tour almost to Gibraltar and we toured part of the family to Ronda and surroundings. the youngsters stayed hours on the beach.

All the rooms are decorated very nice…lovely open planned living area & the kitchen was great too..we didn’t cook any evening meals – we ate out each night at the restaurants nearby.

…We had a great holiday, loved the house (too much, it was hard to get going :). Sunshine was not guaranteed… we had two foggy days, but it did not matter much.

We spent a lot of time on the beach, watching football at Pepe’s, etc. We also went to Estepona (to the big playground), Gibraltar (twice, because two us forgot the passport), to Puerto Banus and to the Selwo Safari Park (we loved it, actually).

The cot was great, especially with the extra mattress (many places do not have that).

There is really not much you could improve. I am searching to find something :))))

We tried the restaurant you recommended on our welcome sheet and loved it. Keep recommending it (especially the rabbit!)…

Nine of us (4 adults and 5 children) rented this fantastic villa in July 2012.

When you plan a large family holiday, you always have the concern around whether the accommodation will be what you are hoping for. With Pluma Piedra you do not have to worry.

Location wise it is a short 40 minute drive from the airport and is very close to the beach. A number of restaurants and small shops are just a walk away and a few good supermarkets just a 5 minute drive.

The Villa is of a high standard, recently modernised with an excellent kitchen, large living accommodation, and 5 good sized bedrooms with en-suite facilities.

The fully enclosed garden has plenty of room to play games and sunbathe, a large outside seating area accommodating all of us for mealtimes and contains a really good size pool that our children spent the majority of their time in.

Overall we really loved this villa, certainly one of the best we have ever rented and would recommend it to anyone.

Hi Becky, had a fab time, the villa was wonderful, the boys loved the pool and even the two year old spent most of his time on the jumping board as they called it. when we asked them what was the best part of the holiday, they said the pool and the jumping board. We struggled with my mum as she found it hard to walk but she spent most of her time in one of the outside chairs in the shade watching the kids. We’re already talking about returning next summer, maybe take my daughters mum in law for a week as they have never had a holiday with the children.  Thanks so much again.
